Restore Your Back-up

There are two methods for restoring your back-up.  The first is to restore the database for the same location as when the back-up disk was created.  The second is to restore the database to another location, such as transferring your database to a new computer or simply to a new drive on the same computer.

 

Restore Back-up to Original Location :

 

  1. Insert your CD back-up disk in your CD-ROM Drive.
  2. Launch the GemPro program.
  3. Click the Back-Up/Restore icon  or click the Utilities menu item and then click Restore from CD from the drop down list to display the following screen.

                

  1. Click the Restore button to commence copying your back-up files.
  2. On completion, a message will display confirming your files have been restored.

 

Restore Back-up to a New Location :

To restore your back-up data files to a new location, such as a new computer or a different drive. If its a new computer then you must install the GemPro program first.  The latest version can be obtained from your data service provider.

After installing the GemPro program, insert your back-up CD disk in your CD-ROM drive and use the File / Install Historical Data from CD-ROM menu command.
