The Merge data utility enables you to combine the data from some external source to the historical file in your current system. To merge two data files:

 

1. Click the Open Portfolio icon.  
2. Highlight the security to be edited.
3. Click on the Edit icon  and select Merge to display the data for that security as shown below -

                         

4. Use the drop down combo box to select the folder where the ‘old’ file or external source file is located. If the folder is not listed, then enter the relevant folder path and press the enter key.  All files contained in the selected folder will appear in the list box.
5. Select the ‘old’ file to be merged from the list that appears.
6. Select the Ending Date required for the ‘old’ data file using the vertical scroll bar.
7. Select the Starting Date required for the current file. (This is, generally, the first date after the ending date you have selected for the ‘old’ file.)
8. Click the Merge button to merge the ‘old’ data with the current data file.
